Biography

David Wasserman started learning the violin at the age of 2 years old. At the age of 6, he joined the Victorian College of the Arts and was part of the Youth Orchestra until the age of 16 where he gave with the Orchestra weekly concerts at the Melbourne Town Hall, Monash University (Robert Blackwood Hall), interstate and in many country towns throughout Victoria.

David won several school Competitions for Excellency in Solo Performance and won many awards for being 'Best Musician' and having outstanding leadership in Orchestra.

At the age of 14, he had already worked for a few chamber and professional Orchestras in Melbourne.

At the age of 16, David started his Violin Accreditation with the Suzuki School of Music, Melbourne and completed his Accreditation 4 years later.

He furthered his studies at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music where he perfected his playing and was awarded "High Distinction" for Excellency in Solo Performance.

David has been teaching in Melbourne's most Prestigious Schools including MLC - Methodist Ladies' College (2002 Australian School of the Year), Ghilgai Steiner School and joined several professional Orchestras and Operas including Melbourne City Opera and Melbourne Opera where he played in the first Violins Rank and File.

David has worked with the world's greatest conductors including Sir Richard Duvall, previous permanent conductor at the Sydney Opera house.

David has also composed many modern pieces of music including Orchestral pieces which have been trialled and played at several schools concerts.

David has now decided to pursue his music career in Paris and is currently working as a Violin Teacher with both Traditional and Suzuki Methods, working for the AFPS - Association Française Pédagogie Suzuki.
